You can now preorder an unlocked Palm phone for US$350

The Palm phone is pretty minuscule in comparison to what most of us are using, which is not a bad thing.

The Palm phone, which is being revived by a new Palm company who licenses the name from TCL, was probably something some of us could have done without but not everyone feels that way. Verizon jumped on the resurrection and started selling the new device and that was that. But if you were a non-Verizon customer, you were out of luck. That is until now. Now, you’re able to purchase the new tiny Palm phone unlocked and it will work with any GSM carrier.

The Palm phone is pretty minuscule in comparison to what most of us are using, which is not a bad thing. The screen measures in at 3.3” and it sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435, 3GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, IP68 dust and water resistance, a 12MP rear camera, and an 8MP front-facing camera. You’ll have to be happy with Android 8.1 Oreo for now but it could eventually see Android 9 Pie when the company decides to push the update.

The new Palm phone is eligible for pre-order now directly from Palm and it will cost you US$350. You will be able to simply pop your GSM carrier’s SIM card in and be on your way. This device may or may not replace your current smartphone, it all depends on what you want out of it. Most will see this as a secondary-device for emergencies or for a pre-teen’s first phone. The Palm phone will give most users everything they need in a smartphone without the big flagship prices.

Palm says the pre-orders will start shipping out in August 2019 and they are offering a free leather case with neck and wrist lanyard as value adds.

At US$350, it’s not a horrible price but you do have to question this phone when the Google Pixel 3a is only US$50 more with better features. Are any of you interested in pre-ordering an unlocked Palm phone? Let us know in the comments below or on TwitterFacebook, or MeWe.
