Israeli tech startup Buildots secures $15M investment led by Intel Capital to revolutionize construction with AI

Israeli construction tech startup Buildots has secured a $15 million investment led by Intel Capital, with participation from OG Tech Partners and existing investors. This marks Intel Capital’s first foray into the construction tech sector. The venture capital arm of chipmaker Intel, Intel Capital, also has investments in TuMeKe and FlexAI.

The new funding round, which brings Buildots’ total financing to $121 million, is set to propel the company’s growth and enhance its core construction management platform. Alongside the investment, Buildots also announced that Lisa Cohen, Investment Director at Intel Capital, will join its board as an observer.

Cohen emphasized the transformative potential of AI in construction, stating that Intel, known for undertaking some of the largest and most complex construction projects globally, seeks to revolutionize construction process management and drive new efficiencies through AI.

Founded in 2018 by Aviv Leibovici, Roy Danon, and Yakir Sudry, Buildots leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to tackle inefficiencies in the construction sector, helping to prevent errors that cause delays and budget overruns. The company claims its technology can reduce costs and cut delays by up to 50%.

Buildots’ platform combines AI and computer vision to automate on-site progress tracking, delivering accurate data and predictive performance metrics that empower construction teams to make informed decisions. CEO Roy Danon highlighted that the company’s AI-powered progress tracking and analytics software aim to bring the multitrillion-dollar construction industry into the digital age.

In an industry rife with complexity, cost challenges, and productivity issues, even minor errors can lead to significant delays and budget discrepancies. By embracing digital innovations, the construction sector can overcome these hurdles, enhancing performance measurement and efficiency.

Buildots is at the forefront of this transformation, offering a performance-driven approach that measures individual tasks to boost overall efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize delays by up to 50%. Using hardhat-mounted cameras to record job sites and create 4D models, Buildots’ AI technology identifies mistakes and predicts delays, accelerating construction timelines and enhancing efficiency for major projects worldwide.

With a strong presence across North America, the UK, and EMEA, Buildots is driving significant efficiency gains in large-scale construction projects, positioning itself as a key player in the AI construction revolution.
