Kanto TUK

Kanto Audio is a new face around these parts and might be a new name for you. The company hails from Canada and specializes in high-performance audio products. They make a range of speakers and accessories that is supposed to deliver some pretty great sound. We currently have the Kanto SYD in for review and the company just announced the TUK series.

The idea behind the new TUK series is saving space without sacrificing sound quality. Kanto has added Bluetooth 4.2 along with aptX HD and AAC compatibility to deliver the best sound they possibly can.

It features dedicated phono, RCA and Optical TOSLINK inputs, while a phono pre-amp, headphone amp, and USB DAC are built-in, removing the need to buy (and find space for) these separately. TUK boasts 260W peak power (130W total RMS) and Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeters which deliver incredible detail with minimal distortion. The high rigidity and low mass of the 5.25″ aluminum cone driver housed in each speaker enables clarity at any volume.

Kanto TUK’s versatility makes it the ideal choice for a modern lifestyle, connecting to mobile, laptop, desktop, TV and even turntables. A built-in USB port can power any smart home device such as an Amazon Echo or Google Home Mini, and TUK’s ‘always on’ Bluetooth connection ensures seamless integration. It’s the perfect choice to stream audio, amplify movie / TV experiences, make gaming more immersive, or to get the most out of a vinyl collection.

TUK is heavily design-led and the minimal, futuristic design (available in matte black and matte white finishes) is an instant talking point in any home interior environment. TUK looks stylish on a bookshelf or desktop and Kanto also produces a range of high-quality speaker stands to enhance its performance and flexibility.

TUK is rich in features with others including reversible channels, custom EQs, advanced signal detection, night mode and more. Many of the features can be accessed via remote control. Output to a subwoofer is also available; TUK’s active crossover filters out frequencies below 80Hz and sends them directly to the Kanto sub which improves resolution and reduces distortion yet further.
